We Are The Sex Media: What About the Genius Women?
filed under: We Are The Sex Media by Lux Nightmare
I don’t think that I’ve ever begun a piece by referencing “The Rush Limbaugh Show,” but, hey, there’s a first time for everything: and yesterday’s report (”Genius Men Always Cheat On Wives“) was too good to pass on.
The “report” (which reads more like a bad porn than actual news) pulls from an article that ran in the UK Telegraph last fall (and also reads like a bad porn). Buried in remarks about various sexual positions, deflowering virgins, and how many times JFK had sex in a day is an actual thesis:
Men with brilliant minds, whose creativity brings them enormous success, sometimes find themselves in a curious situation. They are so highly rewarded by society for their achievements that they are unable to limit their curiosity to new problems in their special fields. It starts to spill over into other areas.
Novel sexual experiences, for instance, suddenly seem irresistible. It is not the mating act itself that is so important - that varies very little. It is the thrill of the chase and the excitement of a new conquest that drives them on. Once the conquest has been made, the novelty of the affair soon wears off and another chase is begun. Each illicit episode involves stealth and secrecy, tactics and strategy, and the terrifying risk of discovery, making it the perfect metaphor for the primeval hunt.
The idea that “smart men are powerful men, powerful men need to take risks and fuck everything in sight” is already a problematic one. In my personal experience, smart, powerful men tend to be afraid of women. It’s possible to argue that treating women like objects to be collected and discarded is more a sign of fear than a demonstration of power: the less time you allow a woman to linger in your life, the less chance she has of hurting you.
But let’s set that aside for the moment, because what really gets me is the complete absence of any mention of genius women. If genius men are all off having affairs and fucking everything that moves, what are the genius women doing: baking cookies? Showing off their power through extreme, risk-taking knitting? If we accept the idea that smart people are powerful people, and that the pursuit of sex is an expression of power, why can’t we talk about smart women flexing their smarts through their amorous excursions?
Oh right: because women who use sex to demonstrate power are whores. Can’t believe I forgot that one.

Well now, hang on. It’s a ridiculous, insipid article clearly meant to justify Newt Gingrich’s recent infidelities, but just because it doesn’t mention genius women, doesn’t mean that it’s making any sort of judgement on sexually assertive, highly intelligent women. When you read an article about dogs, that doesn’t mean that the author is implying that dogs are better than cats.
That being said, I’d put money on the fact that Fat Bastard Limbaugh believes that sexual women are whores.
