It’s Friday, and seeing as for once, I swear, the entirety of The Sexerati Squad is getting action — aren’t you glad you stuck around ’til the weekend for that bit? it’s true, not once during the four months Lux has double-teamed the blog with me have we both, at the same time, and no, not like that, been [redacting] [redacted]s on a regular [redacted] and damn, it’s about [redacted] time — it’s time to bring back our favorite ‘having too much fun to blog’ feature, Music To Do It To.

Sounds Like: Sexerati is totally punting… no, it’s just that, how can you not give a little love to someone who eternal elitists (and we heart them for it, we do) like the Village Voice bow to by way of a Venn diagram of his fuckability? Don’t believe us? Mims’ “This Is Why I’m Hot” gives a literal picture:

Of all the hot women, set X, we see the subset that Mims has had vs. the subset the Voice can claim. If that doesn’t make it clear for you, then maybe listen to the track with your honey even. Logic models alone don’t get most girls wet, after all.

Sounds Like: A collaborative project led up by Dan the Automator (of Gorillaz, Handsome Boy Modeling School, and a whole bunch of other awesome projects), Lovage features the steamy vocals of Mike Patton and Jennifer Charles, laid over vintagey tracks contributed by Kid Koala.

Perfect For: With a name like “Music to Make Love to Your Old Lady By,” this album is sure to set the mood for your next night in.

Band: The Dresden Dolls

Sounds Like: A piano and a drumkit were abandoned at the Kit Kat Klub, removed to CBGB’s, and set upon by the likes of Amanda Palmer and Brian Viglione. This ain’t no goth disco: this is pure, debauched, world-weary and wet-making punk cabaret.

Perfect For: Driving (like her hands on the keys), pounding (crashing cymbals), throat-pulsing (she’s got range), breathless… as you like. And if his hard-on wilts at lyrics on bad girl sex with older men (”if you kiss me mister you must think im pretty/if you think so mister you must want to fuck me/if you fuck me mister it must mean you love me“) or on the virtues of coin-operated boys (”made of plastic and elastic/he is rugged and long-lasting/who could ever ever ask for more“) then why is he in your bed in the first place?

Band: Aero Wave

Sounds Like: Intense indie-pop vocals over electro-static sounds and beats. Leslie’s voice is soft, beautiful, and seductive, and she sings with a heartbreaking intensity that’s beautifully showcased by her electronic beats.

Perfect For: A hot and heavy make out session. Aero Wave is all about anticipation: a slow, soft build that’s far more satisfying than a quick and easy climax. “Lost Loop” is a particularly good album to listen to when things are getting to that oh-so-close place.
