A project by photographers Ruby Rumie and Justine Graham looked at the physical stereotypes associated within social hierarchies. Común lugar, or ‘Common Place’ in English was carried out by 100 women in total from Chile, Colombia and Argentina.
Rumie and Graham took employers and their employees and stripped them of all accessorises that may have given away their status in society. With the maids and their bosses wearing matching outfits, it becomes clear how much we all rely on our appearances, to present our social status.
Have a look and see if you can spot the employee and the employer in these photos.
