Is it something that I someday (God knows when) want to earn, to have hanging in my wardrobe, or even up on the wall, or just living in everyday of the week, well then it is a piece from Riccardo Tisci. These posted images are from the 2010 Couture Collection for Givenchy. You can easily spot Tisci’s signatures in the collection, the dégradé ostrich feathers, the lace and fring work. The darkest color in the collection is chocolate brown, otherwise everything else is white, flesh-colored or gold. I admire the fact that the collection looks impressively gothic without a single shade of black color. He claimed his inspiration was Frida Kahlo and her three obsessions: religion, sensuality and human anatomy. An example is the back of a jacket in double silk duchesse satin, nestled in the middle a tiny ceramic skull sprouting angel wings was hidden.

It was said that sometime during the presentation Tisci described his work as, “A romantic way to see death”.
