Iris Van Herpen previewed her SS11 collection, ‘Crystallization’ at the International Fashion Week in Amsterdam, not only was her signature leather pleating and her beautiful structures prevalent but her innovation exceeded expectations: utilising perspex as shoulder pieces (and one jaw dropping show piece), an outstanding construction – defying the meaning to ‘the wet look’. A collaboration with Jan Benthem and Mels Crouwel for ARCAM (the architecture centre of Amsterdam) – inspired by the mystery and obscurity of water and by chaos and structure, a sensational result.
No stone unturned for Iris, the sublime attention to detail being exemplary – take a look at the hair!
This is definitely the hub of my excitement for London Fashion Week
