There’s a sense of anticipation that precedes any gig, but for Rage Against The Machine live it’s certainly unique. Anyone familiar with the politically charged rock outfit will be aware of how simple yet timelessly memorable their tracks have always been. Tom Morello’s masterful guitar work accompanied by Zack De La Rocha’s defiant vocals left Rage one of the most influential artists of the 90s.

It’s no surprise when you find forty thousand people turning up for their free show in Finsbury Park, North London, to commemorate ‘Killing In The Name’ successfully reaching Christmas #1 2009. From the opening of ‘Testify’ to the final “Fuck you, I won’t do what you tell me!” the whole crowd yells every lyric with enthusiastic appreciation. Each tune is as crisp and fresh as nearly twenty years ago completing a truly memorable night. Brilliant.
