Sex in the Media: The Good News Edition
filed under: We Are The Sex Media by Lux Nightmare
We’ve written before about the sheer lack of positive, sex-related news stories – you know, stories that aren’t about rape, abstinence-only education, and why girls today are such unrepenting whores – so it is with great pleasure that I report finding not just one, but two, stories this morning that didn’t make me want to stab myself in the face repeatedly.
From New Zealand: apparently, men in New Zealand are getting vasectomies at a higher rate than almost anywhere else in the world – news which is shocking enough to inspire a PhD candidate at Auckland University to do research into the phenomenon. Whatever the reason, we at Sexerati are just happy to see men taking responsibility for contraception: now can we get back to getting a workable male birth control pill/shot/patch/whatever on the market, so these men can be responsible without going under a knife?
Back in the States: The Staten Island Advance has a column on how (wait for it) sex is good for you. While not exactly groundbreaking news, it’s still nice to see someone reminding us that sex is good for the mind, body, and spirit.
Good work, media! Keep reporting the good news!
