Fucking Behind Pixellated Bedroom Doors

Just six weeks left to catch webAffairs at The Erotic Museum in Hollywood, a solo exhibition of the work of webcam artist, Show-n-tell.  Her images, captured over the course of four years in adult chat communities online, reveal domestic scenes of lo-fi exhibitionism paired with choice chat transcripts of raw connection and complication.

Some might judge what seems like secret Red State lust in the juxtaposition of “real life” (awful afghan throws, yellowy desklamp lighting, nasty little plastic eyeball cams) with the amplified sexual personas of all the “just folks”  finger-banging and cock-stroking into the night for one another.  Having visited some of what I’m left to assume are these same communities (if they even still exist, and Show-n-tell is, of course, a screename), I can vouch for the extent to which totally “ordinary” lust is taking full advantage of rampant broadband and DV nightshot on the cheap.  Yes, people are still having sex.  Where once there was a roadside motel with PPV and a mirrored ceiling, now we’re making our own PPV, watching ourselves being watched on our own screens.

So — and you can only ask this question if you’ve ever fucked via cam — where’s the sex?

For that, you’ve got to read Regina Lynn’s interview with Show-n-tell.  (My proposal?  How do you know that you’re having real sex offline?)
